Chrome Extension Bookmark
Tech Used: JS, JSON
This one is definitely not solving any serious problem, but it was simple to do and suited an OCD-type organizational desire of mine.
I typically use Brave as my browser, but this should work in any Chromium browser, ie Brave, Opera, Vivaldi, Chrome, etc.
Instead of using bookmarks by enabling the bookmarks bar, which takes up vertical space on the screen, I simply make a VERY basic browser extension that is nothing more than an icon and a link. This makes my bookmark sit next to extension buttons in the extension section next to the url input. This method removes the need for adding an entire bookmark bar and saves screen space.
It’s really easy to do, and at this point, whenever I need a new bookmark, I simply duplicate an existing bookmark extension, change the icon, name, and link, and install it.
It works very well for me, but won’t work for someone who may use a lot of bookmarks.
